Please watch our video on how to install a bathtub surround with our Wide Panels.

1. Preperation & Back wall

  • 1 Make sure you have all required accessories and tools before starting the installation. When installing an alcove with wide panels you should finish the backwall and then the return walls.
  • 2 In addition to Fibos profiles and accessories the installation require:
    • Knife (retractable or similar)
    • Track saw
    • Miter saw
    • Plunge saw or circular saw
    • Ruler
    • Pencil
    • Drill with bits kit
    • Hole saw or jigsaw
    • Spirit leveler or laser
    • Caulking gun
  • 3 Behind Fibo wall panels we strongly recommend using OSB. Note: the OSB must be thick enough to match the thickness of the flange on the tray/bath

2. Measure, cut and install base profile

  • 1 Measure the length needed and cut the profile
  • 2 Put sealant behind the profile
  • 3 Screw the profile to the wall. We recommend a gap of 1/8 inch between the tray/tub and the base profile

3. Installing first panel

  • 1 Make sure the wall is plum and cut panel to size needed
  • 2 Clean the edges and apply sealant on all cut surfaces
  • 3 Install the internal corner to the panel using the screws enclosed in the packaging
  • 4 Make sure the panel is plum, and screw the panel on the edge to the back wall (we recommend pre-drilling holes for the best result)
  • 5 Fasten the corner profile with screws through the pre-drilled holes.

4. Installing second panel

  • 1 Measure to size. Be sure to measure all the way into the bottom of the internal profile.
  • 2 Cut the panel
  • 3 Repeat the sealing process
  • 4 Push the panel in place. Make sure the panel is plum, and screw the panel on the edge to the back wall (we recommend pre-drilling holes for the best result)

5. Sealing the base profile

  • 1 Clean the base profile with Fibo Wipes, apply sealant between the bottom of the panel and the baseprofile, remove excess with Fibo Clean and Fibo Sealing Tool.
  • 2 Apply sealant between the tub /tray and the baseprofile, remove excess with Fibo Clean and Fibo Sealing Tool.

6. Sealing the internal corner

  • 1 Clean the corner with Fibo Wipes.
  • 2 Aplly Fibo Seal in the corner.
  • 3 Remove excess with Fibo Clean and Sealing Tool

7. installing the L-shaped finishing profile

  • 1 Apply sealant in front of the panel at the contact point for the decorative ring and attach the ring.
  • 2 Adjust the L-shaped finishing profile to the correct height. Apply sealant inside the profile and attach it to the edge of the panel to cover the cut edge and the visible screws.

8. Installing accessories

  • 1 Put a mark where the accessories should be placed
  • 2 Pre-drill holes. Important: Not all the way through the panel, just 0,2 inches.
  • 3 Fill the hole with Fibo Seal
  • 4 Fill the hole with Fibo Seal, attach the accessorie and fasten it to the wall in the pre-drilled holes. (Note: Heavier equitment should be installed with hvac screws)
