Installation for wall panel 3-sided alcove

Our Wall panel system is quick and easy to install. Follow our Installation guide to get started. Fibo panels are certified and approved, and come with a 15 year domestic warranty as long as the installation is done properly, which ensures peace of mind for you and your customers. 1. Preperation and back wall

  • 1 Make sure you have all required accessories and tools before starting the installation. When installing an alcove with wide panels you should finish the backwall and then the return walls.
  • 2 In addition to Fibos profiles and accessories the installation require:
    • Knife (retractable or similar)
    • Track saw
    • Miter saw
    • Plunge saw or circular saw
    • Ruler
    • Pencil
    • Drill with bits kit
    • Hole saw or jigsaw
    • Spirit leveler or laser
    • Caulking gun
  • 3 Behind Fibo wall panels we strongly recommend using OSB. Note: the OSB must be thick enough to match the thickness of the flange on the tray/bath

2. Meassure, cut and install base profile

  • 1 Measure the length needed and cut the profile
  • 2 Put sealant behind the profile
  • 3 Screw the profile to the wall. We recommend a gap of 1/8 inch between the tray/tub and the base profile

3. Installing first panel

  • 1 Make sure the wall is plum, and alway start the installation from left to right when using 24 inch wide panels
  • 2 Measure to correct size and cut the first panel. Important: if tile pattern; we recommend to divide panel equally (uniformed)
  • 3 Clean the edges and apply sealant on all cut surfaces that will not be covered with an L-profile
  • 4 Make sure the panel is plum. Screw the panel to the back wall in the screw-lip.
  • 5 Remember the bottom screw should penetrate the base profile

4. Installing the second panel and sealing the aqualock click

  • 1 Measure the panel all the way from the edge of the laminate to the bottom of the internal corner profile and cut to size needed
  • 2 Make sure to apply sealant on the cut edges before installing the panel.
  • 3 Install the internal corner to the panel using the screws enclosed in the packaging
  • 4 Apply sealant in the sealing "lip". when the panels are clicked together remove excess with Fibo Clean, Fibo Sealing Tool and Fibo Wipes.

5. Installing the first panel on the back wall

  • 1 Measure the panel all the way from the edge of the laminate to the bottom of the internal corner profile and cut to sixe needed.
  • 2 Repeat the sealing process
  • 3 Make sure the panel is plum. Screw the panel to the back wall in the screw-lip.

6. Installing niches

  • 1 Measure the nice, make cut marks and cut the hole for the niche
  • 2 Apply sealant on cut surfaces
  • 3 Apply sealant on the laminate edge to fasten the niche

7. Installing the last panel

  • 1 Measure the panel all the way from the edge of the laminate to the bottom of the internal corner profile and cut to sixe needed.
  • 2 Repeat the sealing process
  • 3 Screw the last panel on the edge which will be covered with an L-shaped finishing profile. We recommend pre-drilling holes to get the best result.

8. Sealing the internal corner and the base profile

  • 1 Clean the base profile with Fibo Wipes, apply sealant between the bottom of the panel and the baseprofile, remove excess with Fibo Clean and Fibo Sealing Tool.
  • 2 Apply sealant between the tub /tray and the baseprofile, remove excess with Fibo Clean and Fibo Sealing Tool.
  • 3 Clean the corner with Fibo Wipes. Aplly Fibo Seal in the corner. Remove excess with Fibo Clean and Sealing Tool

9. Installing acces panel, with loose “dog-leg”

  • 1 If using an access panel (size 12 19/32") be sure that the two panels next to it is divided equally.
  • 2 Repeat the sealing process
  • 3 When the panels are clicked together remove excess with Fibo Clean, Fibo Sealing Tool and Fibo Wipes.
  • 4 As an option you can attach a loose dog-leg by gluing it to the wall as shown

10. Sealing the faucet and finishing with L-profile

  • 1 Apply sealant in front of the panel at the contact point for the decorative ring and attach the ring.
  • 2 Adjust the L-shaped finishing profile to the correct height. Apply sealant inside the profile and attach it to the edge of the panel to cover the cut edge and the visible screws.
